Hello! This is Atami Bay Resort Korakuen.

Happy New Year!
How is everyone spending the New Year?

In the clear air, the sea in Atami is looking calm and gentle, as if celebrating the beginning of a new year.

In my year-end blog, I expressed my gratitude to all of you as I reflected on the year 2025, and once again, as we enter the New Year in this way, I realize that a new chapter is about to begin.

There is something special about welcoming the New Year while thinking about the year ahead, such as “What kind of year shall we make this year?

Last year, Atami Korakuen Hotel celebrated a major milestone, the 60th anniversary of its opening.

Thanks to the many customers who have supported us, we are truly happy to be able to greet the new year in this way.

We will continue to welcome you with the same hospitality this year, cherishing the feelings we have accumulated over the past 60 years and the warm feedback we have received from all of you.

Atami during New Year’s Day is somewhat relaxing, and just looking out at the ocean is calming (^^

Speaking of New Year’s, Hatsumode, or New Year’s visit to a shrine, is a must.

The time when we put our hands together at the beginning of a new year and wish for another year of peaceful life is a time to straighten up our backs and get our minds in order.

At this time of year in Atami as well, visitors can be seen heading to Raiku Shrine and other shrines, giving the area a sense of the peaceful bustle that only the New Year can bring.

Somehow, though, it naturally makes me feel positive that another year has begun!
Although it is crowded everywhere, I sometimes like that chaotic atmosphere.

After Hatsumode, taking a breather in the warm air or spending a quiet time looking out at the sea is a unique way to enjoy the New Year in Atami.
By the way, I am most looking forward to the food stalls that are open during the New Year’s season.
(I would even say that the food stalls are the main attraction. lol)

It is also good to soak in an onsen to warm up your cold body after the New Year’s visit to the shrine!
(OCEAN SPA Fuua is open from New Year’s Day! How about coming back on the way home from Hatsumode? How about it on your way back from New Year’s Day?)

Well! As this is the first blog of the year 2026, I would like to introduce the newly installed “ema-style message board” from this year!

The custom of writing down wishes and dedicating them is an important moment at the beginning of the year.
Did you know that the Atami Korakuen Hotel also offers ema (votive tablet) at the hotel? We have recently renewed them as “ema-style message boards!
The “ema” is just like a regular ema, in that you can write your wishes on an ema-style card and tie it to the board!

The cards are filled with warm wishes for a healthy family, a happy new year, and a return visit to Atami. Looking at each card, I feel as if I can feel the feelings of the person who wrote it, which naturally soothes my heart.

We hope you will write your goals and wishes for this year in between your stay and enjoying the hot springs, and make it one of the most memorable parts of your trip.
It was a very funny scene to see family members and friends holding up ema (votive picture tablet) while talking about “what to write” (*^-^*). (*^-^*)

We hope you will come and visit us, as you can write freely not only for those staying at the hotel but also for day-trippers!

Once again, in closing, I wish you all a peaceful and fruitful new year.

In 2026, our staff will continue to make every effort to provide you with a memorable time.
We also hope to share our daily happenings and recommendations in Atami on this blog!

Thank you for your continued support of Atami Bay Resort Korakuen, Atami Korakuen Hotel, and this blog in the new year!
