Hello! This is Atami Bay Resort Korakuen!
Little by little, the temperature is getting warmer and the days are starting to feel more and more like summer.
Every year, I get sick of the summer heat, but it makes me feel like I can’t wait for summer somehow, which is proof that it is so full of charm… ( **艸艸)
Summer is a time for fireworks displays, festivals, shaved ice, BBQs, etc… There are too many things to write about. There are too many things to write about, but I think that the “sea” is the most popular summer event!
Atami is also an “ocean” city, as the name implies, and is crowded with many tourists every summer.
Just taking a walk along the beach or relaxing while gazing at the ocean is pleasant enough, but swimming in the sea is what comes to mind in the summer, isn’t it?
There are several beaches in Atami City, the most famous of which is Atami Sun Beach.
In addition to being within walking distance from Atami Station, it features a 400-m-long sandy beach and rows of palm trees, providing a somewhat tropical resort-like atmosphere.
The view of the blue sea and sky during the day is of course wonderful, but the Atami Sun Beach is also attractive at night when the beach is lit up and you can enjoy a fantastic view that is different from that of the daytime.
If I were asked what I think of Atami in summer, I would recommend this place. If I am asked what I think of Atami in the summer, I always recommend this spot.
Did you know that there is an event being held around Atami Sun Beach where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery unique to this time of year?
This year’s event is an early summer tradition that attracts many visitors every year,
Atami Jacaranda Festival
The following is an introduction to the
Have you ever heard of the “Jacaranda” flower?
Jacaranda is a flowering tree native to South America and is considered one of the three most important flowering trees in the world.
It is characterized by its pale purple flowers that bloom from late May to June, and is popular around the world for its beautiful scenery.
Since there are only a limited number of places in Japan where you can see them, some people may say that they have heard of the name but have never actually seen them.
In fact, Atami City is one of the best places in Japan to see jacarandas!
The blooms are in the coastal area that stretches from Atami Sun Beach to the Shinsui Park area.
The 2026 Jacaranda Festival will be held from June 1 to June 14.

This gate leads to the Jacaranda Walkway!
When the jacarandas planted along the seaside promenade are at their best, they are decorated with bright purple flowers.

These purple flowers are really beautiful… I can’t get enough of the exotic feeling…
Blue ocean, blue sky on a clear day (cloudy the day I took this picture… LOL), palm trees, and purple jacarandas.
The unique scenery of Atami makes you feel as if you are walking in a foreign resort♪

It had a different charm from cherry and plum blossoms, and the softly blooming purple flowers were very elegant.
Just strolling slowly while feeling the sea breeze is pleasant, and you will lose track of time as you walk around taking pictures (^^)
By the way, the venue is lit up at night to give you a different atmosphere!

(At night, the bamboo decorations along the way are lit up♪)

Oh, there was also a manhole in the park for Kan’ichi Omiya, who appears in “Golden Yasha”!
Please look for it.
During the Jacaranda Festival, the area around the venue will be filled with a gorgeous atmosphere, allowing visitors to enjoy Atami in early summer even more.
The venue is also relatively easy to reach from Atami Station, making it a great place to stop by during sightseeing.
You can stroll around after enjoying eating out. You can also visit after relaxing at OCEAN SPA Fuua.
It is also recommended to include it in your sightseeing course in Atami.
The Atami Jacaranda Festival can be enjoyed only at this time of the year, before the main season of summer arrives.
Why not enjoy the beautiful purple flowers along with the unique scenery of Atami, the city of the sea?
